  ECOLOGICAL TRUST FOUNDATION®

Free Market Solution to
Environmental Problems®

PROBLEM: The Earth's wildlife is facing mass extinction on a world-wide basis.

BASIC MOTIVATION: To find a practical method of acquiring, financing, holding, and protecting vast tracts of land for the preservation of wildlife and ecosystems.

FINANCING METHOD: The Ecological Trust Foundation first acquires and then sells, or leases, to individuals burial sites for cremation ashes. Those particular individuals are forever identified as having saved those lands for wildlife.

THE PICTURE: Cremation ashes are buried sparsely on land which has ecological significance. Perhaps one urn holding cremation ashes could be buried on each acre in some locations.

TECHNOLOGY: Temporally Degradable Urns holding cremation ashes degrade within specific periods of time - perhaps 80 years being typical. While the urns degrade, and thereafter, the land is primarily used as wildlife preserves.

PATENTS: U.S. Patent No. 5,239,733 entitled "Temporally Degradable Urns for Burial of Human Cremation Ashes in Cemeteries" issued on August 31, 1993.
U.S. Patent No. 5,636,418 entitled "Environmentally Degradable Urns for Burial of Human Cremation Ashes in Terrestrial Cemeteries" issued on June 10, 1997.

The Patents, the Trademarks identified in this document, and relevant Copyrights will be of importance to ensure that the combined intellectual property is used solely for the altruistic goals set forth by the Ecological Trust Foundation.

PROFIT/NON-PROFIT: Which ever would allow the world-wide implementation of this mechanism to save wildlife from mass extinction.

HOLDING LAND INDEFINITELY: If the Ecological Trust Foundation retains the right to re-lease each burial site every 100 years or so, then the land in a particular Ecological Trust Property® can be held, protected, and repetitively refinanced over the centuries as wildlife preserves.

CUSTOMER MOTIVATION: Purchasing or leasing land from the Ecological Trust Foundation guarantees an individual recognition in perpetuity on those lands and guarantees that the lands will be forever preserved. Therefore, an individual's death will provide an eternal legacy of living wildlife into the future.

KEY PHRASES: The Ecological Trust Foundation acquires many different Ecological Trust Properties which are then used as Wildlife Preservation Cemeteries.

PRINCIPALS: W. Banning Vail, Ph.D. and Thomas E. Vail
